During this nine month program you will be learning how to garden, home apothecary and remedies to support you and yours. It is one day per month in person and one to two online modules per month to work through. We will come together to taste, touch and experience herbs and plants from our best growing and propagating methods, tending the community garden, harvesting herbs, making medicinal remedies and finding the way to effectively use them. The nature of this course we will be working hands on together on our team project. Aka you will be getting dirty. But each time we are together we will make a meal and experience herbal remedies that inspire and create herbal goodness for you and yours.
When: The Fourth Saturday's of the month from March til November for in person learning and two supplemental online modules per month with a private community group for questions and information.
Who: This is a hands-on apprenticeship where we will be learning how to grow, manage and harvest plants for nutritive and medicinal use. Must be able to attend in person Saturday sessions.
Where: Within 15 miles of the apothecary in Sperryville, Virginia - at local farms and venues
March- Seeds, Garden Design, Soil Prep, Tree Barks, Wild Foods
April - Planting: Harvesting Spring Herbs and Herbal Vinegars + Honey
May - Tending: Flower & Herb Harvesting, Teas + Water Extractions
June- Harvesting + Processing: Drying herbs and Tinctures
July- Medicine Making + First Aid Herbalism: Salves and Oils
August - Sustainable and Self sufficient herbalism practices
September: Immunity + Fall Remedies: Crafting the Balance
October - Harvesting Roots + Gathering the Goodness
November - Creative Culmination crafting YOUR Apothecary and fun herbal preparations.
Course Dates:
This 9-month course will run the 4th Saturday from 9:30am till 4ish, March- November 2022
All course participants will be eligible for a 20% discount on tools, herbs and books at the apothecary and through other vendors

A portion of our herbs and medicine making will be used for gifting and our free community clinic.
